Finances for Freelancers

Dear members,

Please check back shortly for information regarding Mr. Wood's discussion on Financials for Freelancers. We will be having dinner at the Jewel of India restuarant following the meeting however please continue reading below regarding the NYCT and the Board.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS - PLEASE GET INVOLVED

This year we need to elect a new President-Elect for 2009. This is a one-year term as President-Elect plus one year as President in 2010.

Description: President-Elect assists the President as required performs the duties of President in the event of the latter's absence or incapacity, resignation, removal from office, or other vacancy in such office. The President presides at Circle meetings.

Term: President-Elect is elected for the term of one year as President-Elect and the second consecutive year as President.

Requirements: Must be a voting member of the ATA. Able to attend meetings in New York City.

Suggested qualifications: Prior Board experience is preferred. Extensive experience in the translation industry. Detail-oriented, organized,responsive,

We will also be electing a Treasurer for a 2-year term. The Treasurer receives all Circle funds, handles disbursements and, with the assistance as needed of the Circle bookkeeper records all transactions in Quickbooks.

Requirements: Ability to attend meetings in New York City. Familiarity with Quickbooks is helpful, but the Circle bookkeeper can provide training as necessary.
